About

Started in 2009, the Institute for Public Health Innovation (IPHI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating healthier, more equitable communities across the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. As the officially recognized public health institute for this region, IPHI is a proud member of the National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI). NNPHI is a collective of over 50 institutes nationwide working to advance public health through partnerships, innovation, and systems-level change.

At IPHI, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a healthy, fulfilling life. Our work centers on strengthening the systems that influence public health, improving the environments where people live, work, learn, and play, and expanding the capacity of organizations and communities to address health challenges.

We collaborate with a wide range of public and private partners to drive lasting improvements in health services and policy. Whether we’re shaping healthier school environments, advancing health equity, or building local leadership, IPHI’s efforts are grounded in community and built for impact.

Through a deep commitment to collaboration and innovation, IPHI is helping to shape a future where all communities have access to the resources and conditions that support well-being.
